Topic Work
In P3&4 the children have been learning about the topic 'Helping Hands', they decided to look at the role of the postman as he has such an important job especially at this time of the year delivering all the boys and girls letters to Santa.
We were very lucky to have Postman Richard visit our class and share with the boys and girls his daily work routines.
We listened to the story of the Jolly Postman and his adventures at Christmas time by the authors Janet & Allan Ahlberg. We used lots of different adjectives to describe the characters in the story.
We wrote our own letters to Santa and the procedure of how to wrap and post a parcel.
We discussed the changes in communication over time and how we can communicate instantly with those who live far away.
We examined the various shape and sizes of the different packages and explored their weight and ordered the packages for a given criteria.
We found out so much information about 'The Postman', some of us are even considering this as a future career!
