Highland Dance

On Wednesday we were delighted to join in with a Celtic dance workshop with representives from  two local dance groups, Michelle Johnston from the School of Highland Dance and Brennan Mc Cormick Miskelly School of Irish Dance.    This is part of the practice for the Killyleagh and Shrigley Dance for Ukraine event that will take part later in the summer.  Practice steps for all primary and secondary schools pupils will be shared on a video from the Sir Hans Sloane Centre Facebook page @sirhansloanecentre   This will allow pupils to familiarise themelves with the dances that will happen in the community dance event. This is part of the PEACE IV  EU funded cross community programme. The dance event date will be posted around the two villages and on the Sir Hans Sloane Centre Facebook page. This is in collaboration with Co Down Rural Community Network which manages the funds for the programme.    The Hans Sloane Centre is operating a community cinema over the summer with films for children.  There will be a small charge to include popcorn and ice cream.  Please follow the facebook page @sirhansloanecentre to keep up to date with planned events.
