Farmer Joe and his chicks visit P3/4

Farmer Joe visited the P3/4 classroom. He brought with him some chickens and the children got up close as they roamed around in the library corner! 

He also told the boys and girls all about his farm, the animals he had and how he cared for them. He asked some difficult questions .... Do you know the name of a female pig?, a baby sheep or  a baby goat? (P3/4 knew the answers:-)

Farmer Joe explained how important it is to keep safe on a farm. He  shared with us the true story of Anthony, a little boy who sat on the top of his Daddy's hay bales  in the trailer while his father drove the tractor.  But, one day his dad drove over a big rock and bump went the trailer. Anthony fell to the ground and broke his arm.

P3/4  really enjoyed Farmer Joe visiting our class. Very soon P3/4 are going to do some RECOUNT writing all about thier experience ... so watch this space!
