Dyslexic Awareness Week 2022
This week in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 we completed activities related to raising awareness of Dyslexia. The Primary 3 children were learning all about how to use mnemonics to help us remember how to spell words we can’t sound out by using rhymes and pictures. They then worked with a partner to create a mnemonic for some tricky words. Our Primary 4 and 5 pupils researched famous people with dyslexia and learnt all about dyslexic strengths such as being creative and problem solving! The children in Primary 6 and 7 watched a video called 'See Dyslexia Differently' and wrote some facts that they had learnt about dyslexia, they also looked how the alphabet can be viewed different for people with dyslexia and created their own message for their peers to decode to help give a further understanding how difficult it may be.
