Action Cancer visits Saint Mary's

15th Nov 2015
Action Cancer visits Saint Mary's

Action cancer visited the children to teach them the importance of staying healthy.

The P1-4 children participated in a one day workshop during October  based around the interactive story book ‘Health Action Heroes Quest to Save the Magical Kingdom’. The programme introduced the children to the ‘4 Golden Rules’ for staying healthy.  It encourages them to be physically active, working together as a team to complete 4 challenges so that they too can become Health Action Heroes like Mambo and Jazz.

The P4-7 children participated in a two day  ‘Health Action’ workshop during the first two weeks of November.  These workshops offer the opportunity for children to see for themselves the dangers of smoking and drinking alcohol; the importance of eating a healthy balanced diet; the impact of being physically active and how to stay safe in the sun.

All of the children really reported enjoying working with Action Cancer.  Many thanks to everyone for their donation to Action Cancer.  A cheque will be presented to Action Cancer over the next few weeks.
