World War II Talk P4 & P5

3rd Feb 2018

Today we had a special visitor to our class, Mr Houston came to tell us all about World War II and he brought some special artefacts with him! Mr Houston spoke about how the war began and we were able to tell him some of things that we had learnt so far and he was very impressed! He shown us the different helmets used by the Polish and German solider and we even got to try them on!

Mr Houston also spoke about the daggers that the German soldiers would have used and how they all had a special symbol to show that it was theirs, some even had writing on them. They were very sharp so we didn't get to hold them but was it fascinating to see! Finally Mr Houston showed us gas masks and spoke about the different parts of the masks and how you couldn't go without them in fear of there being an attack. We really loved this as he had lots of different types of masks. We loved trying them on but some of them were a bit smelly!! The class really loved this visit and learnt so much, thank you so much Mr Houston for telling us all about the war and answering all our questions. ๐Ÿ˜€
