Green Day Celebrations in P5 & 6

The classroom was awash today with the colour green in honour of St Patrick.

Our maths challenges all focused on involving the colour green.

The children investigated how many buttons it took to make their name; then calculated what was the average amount of buttons used to make one letter of their name.  

They explored the volume of different shapes using multi-links and green salt dough. 

Finally they explored measuring the volume of different containers. 

The children really embraced their challenges and had great fun sharing their new discoveries.
