Fire Safety Talk👩‍🚒

Today the P4/5 class received a fire safety talk from Peter, a firefighter from DownPatrick Fire Station. Peter spoke to the boys and girls about how the most important thing in our houses is us!  He told us all about the different types of fires that can start at home such as open fires, smoking, electric fires and candles. An interesting fact he told us was that when we light scented candles the glass can break and start a fire! That was something that Miss O'Riordan didn't know!! Peter was very impressed with all the knowledge the children had and how they were able to tell him all about our own school fire escape plan. The boys and girls had a great day and couldn't wait to look at their Fire Safety pack. They have now been promoted to Junior Firefighters!
